New Arrivals In Boherbue Comprehensive Library

A week long history exhibition from UCC on the War of Independence took place in the school library from Friday 13th to 20th January. All staff and pupils were given the opportunity to view the display as well members of the local community and the local primary school.Special thanks to Roisin Murphy (4th Year) for her brilliant portraits of Countess Markievicz and Michael Collins that were done in conjunction with the school's 1916 Commemoration. This week they were unveiled in the school library as part of the exhibition..  Both figures played leading roles in the 1916 Rising. Constance  Markievicz was an Irish Sinn Féin and Fianna Fáil politician, revolutionary nationalist, suffragette and socialist. Michael Collins reputation as one of Ireland's greatest leaders goes before him. He was a  a leading figure in the struggle for Irish independence in the early 20th century. He is rightly considered one of our State's founding fathers.
